Dr. Junrui Liang has received the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical and Automation Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong, in 2010. Since November 2013, he is with the School of Information Science and Technology, ShanghaiTech University, China, as an tenure-track Assistant Professor and later promoted tenured Associate Professor in July 2020. His recent research interests include: mechatronic dynamics, energy harvesting, power conversion circuits and systems, low-energy IoT systems, renewable energy, etc.

        Dr. Liang is ranked among world’s top 2% scientists in both of the career and single year 2021 lists released by Stanford University (The list can be downloaded from here). As of 2022, Dr. Liang has authored and co-authored more than 120 peer-reviewed technical papers in international journals and conferences. He has received several research awards including the Best Student Contributions Award in the 2008 International Conference on Adaptive Structures Technologies (ICAST), Best Paper Award in Automation in the 2009 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation (ICIA), Best Information Paper Award in the 2010 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation (ICIA), and Best Paper Award from 2021 International Conference on Vibration Energy Harvesting and Applications.

       Dr. Liang is a Senior Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), Member of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), and CPSS (China Power Supply Society). He serves as an Associate Editor for IET Circuits, Devices & Systems, General Chair of the 2nd International Conference on Vibration and Energy Harvesting Applications (2019). He is the Co-Chair of Energy Harvesting Technical Committee (EHTC) in ASME Adaptive Structures and Material Systems Division and Track Chair of the International Symposium of Circuits and Systems (ISCAS) 2023. He is also a member in the Program Committee of SPIE Smart Structures/NDE conference, Technical Committee of power and energy circuits and systems (PECAS) in the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS).

Mr. Jingying Chen has received his B.E. degree in automation from Jilin Engineering Normal University. He has worked in the Shanghai Shipyard Shipping Co. Ltd. and many hands-on engieering projects, such as the geological exploration equipment, since 2011. Since 2018 he joined METAL as a Research Assistant.
